Born in Coffs Harbour in 1983, Harley Ingleby embraced surfing from an early age, exploring various shapes and sizes from his father's eclectic collection. By his teens, Ingleby was effortlessly navigating waves ranging from 5ft Fish to 10ft logs. Now a two-time World Longboard champion, Harley is renowned for his progressive longboarding skills, seamlessly blending a shortboard-style attack with a smooth and traditional longboard repertoire.
The HI 4, originally shaped by the skilled hands of Billy Tolhurst, swiftly became Harley's go-to longboard for conditions up to a little over head high. With a wider all-around design and enhanced plane shape curve, the HI 4 offers exceptional looseness and ease of turning. Retaining the continual rocker of the HI HP (Harley's high-performance longboard), the HI 4 has the last 6 inches more aggressively flipped to maintain composure in the pocket on steeper waves. The wider nose, combined with even rocker and nose concave, makes the HI 4 the easiest to cross-step and nose ride in the Harley Ingleby Series of longboards. Equipped with a 4 + 1 fin setup, this board provides a variety of fin options, from a single fin to 2+1 or a progressive quad.
A versatile all-rounder, the HI 4 caters to purists and progressive longboarders alike. In this new Thunderbolt technology, it's tougher, lighter, and boasts an incredible flex pattern not seen in an EPS-based longboard before.
Constructed with 'Thunderbolt Red,' a 100% hand layup Xeon Fibreglass Lamination, the HI 4 delivers competition weight, flex, and durability. The Fused Cell EPS Foam Blank, incorporating a Carbon Fibre Multi-Component Flex Control System, replaces a traditional wooden stringer, ensuring a consistent flex throughout the board's extended lifespan. The board features a 6 + 4oz fiberglass deck lamination with 6 + 2oz on the bottom, wrapped in a Core Shield PVC Shell for flexible protection to the EPS core.
